Cottage 8 — Queen and 2 Singles

A queen bedroom and a second bedroom with two single beds — the one to book if you're travelling with children, or with friends who'd rather not share a bed.

Cottage 8's parlour: floral armchairs around the open fireplace under sage green walls

The parlour

Where the fire is

An open fireplace with armchairs drawn up to it, lamps instead of downlights, and a doorway straight through to the kitchen so nobody's stuck in another room. Add firewood when you book for $20 a night and we'll have it stacked ready. Smart TV and wifi if the weather turns.

Reverse-cycle air conditioning heats and cools the whole cottage, so the fire is there because you want it, not because you need it.

The bedrooms

Two rooms, four people, no sofa beds

The queen bedroom with folded towels on the bed and bathrobes hanging by the door

Queen bedroom

Queen bed with quality linen, quilts and an electric blanket. Bathrobes and towels laid out ready.

The second bedroom set up with single beds and a bedside table

Twin single bedroom

Two single beds, made up the same way as the queen. This is the room that makes Cottage 8 the easier one for families and for friends travelling together.

Cottage 8's kitchen with mustard walls, oven, kettle and a dining table set for four

The kitchen

A real kitchen, and a full fridge

Oven and cooktop, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a cupboard of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans — enough to actually cook a meal, not just reheat one.

The breakfast provisions are in before you arrive: local country-style bacon, free-range eggs, tomatoes and baked beans, cereals, jams, biscuits, fresh orange juice, bread of your choice, a fruit basket, Twinings teas and a Nespresso machine.

The dining table seats four, under the original raked ceiling.

The bathroom with basin, toilet and a window onto the garden

The bathroom

Underfloor heating, which you'll notice in July

Attached to the cottage, not down a path. Shower, toilet, basin, toiletries and a hairdryer — and a heated floor, which is the single thing guests mention most often in winter.

The private garden with outdoor seating, brick paths and lavender against the cottage wall

Outside

Your own garden and a carport

A private walled garden with outdoor furniture — the right place for a glass of something from the Clare Valley at the end of the day. A BBQ is available on request.

The carport is off the back garden, so the car is off the street and out of the sun.
